there's this old guy in my office who has 'don't cha' by the pussycat dolls as his ringtone ! hahaha. i crack up every time his phone rings.
this morning i saw a woman on the train wearing bright red pumps with dirty grey socks. ewwwwwwww.
angie was really amused yesterday by the fact that i now know all sorts of bizarre facts about very
very random things because i surf wikipedia in the office every day. i can write my own series of DID YOU KNOWs. haha.
it's a friday so i'm in a good mood even though i'm really bored. i signed up for brightsparks this morning so that i can apply for the SPH scolarship, but until now i can't really decide whether i really want the scolarship or not. oh well there's no harm in just applying right.
someone told me her friend interned at SPH and quit after two weeks because she didn't like the fact that she has to follow such a fixed template and can't write whatever she wants. haha she should try interning at hewlett packard. then she'll know what FIXED template and business-style writing really mean. i would kill to write something remotely interesting, even if i had to write it in a newspaper style. i'm sick of writing about integrity servers and portfolios. i inevitably have to understand the stuff i'm writing about, so you won't believe the piles of technical shit i have to read and digest just to understand. oh well i guess it's SOME form of writing practice. something to keep my brain working at least.
when i was bored in the office that day i read through every single one of my previous blog entries. it seems my entries have evolved from mere accounts of what i do everyday to entries that are more reflective of what goes on in my head. nowadays i feel there's not much point in recording my daily activities. at least they will no longer be the main focus of my entries.been there, done that, so what ? i guess everyone goes through this phase.
oh and my new diary idea hasn't really taken off yet ! soon soon..
i realise that this is a very random post with very random thoughts and sentences. so let's add one more shall we.
the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference- the point where anything a person does or says no longer has any effect. hate, whether people like to hear this or not, involves passion. that passion has to stem from somewhere right ? when you hate someone, that someone's actions have the power to affect you. if someone bothers you, it means you still care, or that the person does actually mean something to you somewhat. very often, hate is actually just an auto defence mechanism against hurt, disappointment or even jealousy. when i first heard the phrase it really made me think, and at the end of the day i feel it's very true. maybe that's why love-hate relationships exist. they're possible because the 2 words aren't really that contradictory after all. they're both acts/feelings of passion. on the other hand, i can safely say there's no such thing as a love-indifference relationship. it's simply inconceivable because the 2 are complete opposites. it isn't possible to love a person and be indifferent towards him/her at the same time. haha something to ponder on eh ?
and now to finish off this post with very random lyrics
