I WANT A LAURIE :(
forgive the dreadful outburst, but i am presently reading little women and laurie has proven to be such a dear. he's so quick-witted, charming, learned and fun, not to mention caring and compassionate, which girl wouldn't want a laurie for themselves. i adore the way he signs his letters off as "yours ever, laurie". such beautiful simplicity, don't you think.
it's strange how in our modern day society, well read, cultured and refined men are no longer as valued or sought after as they were in yesteryear. it seems that all most girls are looking for nowadays are handsome, sporty, muscular, wool-headed men who gulp pints of beer but miraculously manage to escape the nightmare of having beer bellies and are still able to maintain rock-hard pecs. alright, that was a little of an exaggeration i suppose. but you have to admit that there's some truth to it, no ? it appears that reading widely and thinking deeply are now labelled as unmanly activities, not worthy of the time of most jocks and 'cool' guys. such a pity, really. give me a witty, articulate, well-read boy over a brainless jock anytime. i guess a laurie today would be infinitely difficult to find, not to mention a Mr Darcy from pride and prejudice. It is undoubtedly official that real gentleman of our world no longer exist.
i am currently very into greek mythology. i have no idea why, but the topic really fascinates me so i have been spending a significant amount of my time reading up on greek gods and various myths. haha geeky you say ? yes i know.
i suppose that as much as i detest sajc to the core, i must have ended up here for a reason. perhaps if i had transferred over to acjc after 1st 3 months or chosen acjc in the first place, like i spent my entire jc life wishing i had, i guess i might not be feeling as satisfied with my grades and cca record as i do now. im just pretty happy that the future now holds endless possibilities.
