familiarity is the enemy

i was just thinking about where it all began.
the fireworks, the wind, the crowd, mcdonalds, and yami yoghurt. your smile..
the word i used to describe everything that night in my diary ?
magical.
yes, it was magical.
but i wonder if magical feelings ever last or come back once they're gone.
magic always seems to disappear the minute familiarity starts to set in.
and no matter how hard i try to hold onto it, it always slips through my fingers like sand, gone with the wind.
familiarity is ever the enemy, no doubt.

maybe i should start writing in my diary again.
i have too many thoughts for this little (or you might say big) head of mine and it might help me get my thoughts sorted out.
i need to rid myself of this horrid habit where i rip my diaries out whenever i read them after a period of time, almost as if i'm endlessly ashamed of my thoughts and feelings in the past.
it's rather disturbing, actually.

what an emo emo day.
